How I think Claude can help you save about a day a week, if you're a creative founder or business owner

How and why I use AI (Claude), as a solo business owner
This tool feels like cheating the system. And if the system is unfairly rigged against women to start off with (I’m thinking of those of us who get stuck in ‘default mode’ and end up with the majority of domestic duties at home ON TOP of trying to run our own businesses) then I absolutely see it as a way of levelling the playing field.
I don’t think you’ve got to be good at tech. I think you’ve just got to be good at describing and asking for what you want.

Reason number one - to save time
On top of my business I also have two kids currently under 5. Nuff said.
I love working in and on my business, I also like hanging out with my girls, making them food and doing things that make me feel good/human - like working out, walking in green spaces and (goal for this year) I want to write music on the piano again.
I love getting to the end of the day feeling nicely balanced and satisfied with how I’ve used my time. Discovering and getting to grips with using Claude (as, essentially, my little business and marketing colleague) has allowed this to happen a lot more.
In the past, I tasked myself with doing and learning everything; setting up Google Analytics, Google tags and all that malarkey. But I’ve realised I don’t have to know how the system works or how you build it. I just get Claude to tackle it for me instead. Same result, different (quicker) method.

Reason two - to enable me to invest money in my business where it really makes a difference
One of my goals for 2027 is to free up money I can use for ads. Organic social media just feels like the biggest con, it’s a time sponge. I’ll get my shop front looking how I want it, and post when I feel inspired, but I’m not showing up everyday and posting for the sake of it. I tried a few weeks of that once and have to say it just confirmed I don’t want to spend 90% of my life being a content marketer.
So here’s an example of a money swap - I’ve saved cash by getting Claude to re-design my brand and website, and I’ll use that money to spend on Google ads in the new year. I gave it a picture that I took of my dress and trainers and asked it to do my re-brand with it. Not even joking, here’s the picture 👉🏼

What using Claude looks like IRL (my real examples)
I’m baking bread whilst Claude is building out my website on Kajabi editor.
I’m playing with my daughters whilst Claude is going into a blog post I’ve drafted in Google docs and pulling it across into my Content planning system, re-formatting for LinkedIn, email and IG posts.
I’m going for a run whilst Claude is researching my ideal client and putting together a report for me to read when I’m done, along with key search terms they might use online.

What I actually get Claude to do on the daily
* Website changes, format tweaks - I’ll do in Claude design - literally just telling it what I want the result to be in spoken English.
It’s connected to my Kajabi site so it goes in and actually does the code edits without me faffing around introducing human error.
* Design Instagram text carousel posts with my brand palette. I just have to then go in, find the images and write the text. Thinking of graphic layouts has always taken absolutely ages (without great results) even when I started with Canva templates.
* Checking - my whole website for broken links.
* Helping me design online tools (like Notion pages/systems) I can whip up and then share with clients to help them in their business and workflows.

What I don’t get Claude to do
Claude doesn’t write for me, ever. It gives me structure and strategy chats on the side, but I’ve told it not to edit what I write at all, because I believe in order to connect properly with other humans, you have to show up as one - totally. You can sniff out AI generated text a mile off, which is a huge turn off for me.
I haven’t connected it to my email accounts or iCal. Anything with details and data, I’m going to avoid for peace of mind.
Using Skills on Claude
Recently I’ve dived deeper and learned how to create Skills which are basically repeated workflows you do all the time.
After repeating the ‘editing website’ flow about 4 times, I made it into a Skill. Well, I asked Claude too, obvs.
Now I just drop the downloaded html from Claude Design and say ‘use the skill’ and it cracks on. In this point in my business, this task alone probably saves me about 3 hours a week, at least.

Where I think Claude could be incredible for female business owners and solopreneurs
I have lots of chats with my clients about time management and using their (often stretched) time more effectively. Here’s a few tasks off the top of my head I think could be outsourced so women can stay in their creative business and creative genius lanes:
- Editing websites (WordPress sites are getting a bit of a functionality slamming in my client calls at the moment, I’ve found out they CAN be connected to Claude)
- Staying organised with your time - Claude can organise goals, mapping out steps to achieve those goals, and to-do lists. I like using it with the Todoist app, I’ve automated it so tasks get pulled in automatically for each week.
- Designing social media, Instagram and LinkedIn posts - swap out for DIY’ing on Canva to using Claude Design, or Claude connected to Canva.
- Researching keywords for blog posts and SEO
- SEO optimisation (currently exploring this one for myself)
I’m so interested to see what this list would look like in a year's time. Not sure about you, but if I could just work 4-8 hours in my business per week (outside 1:1 client calls) I think that would be the dream.
